If your building has a parapet facing a public right-of-way, December 31st is an important compliance deadline.

New York City requires buildings to have their parapets observed annually. With the deadline approaching, property owners and managers should be confirming that the required observation has been addressed for their properties.

This is not a deadline to overlook.

• A missed or delayed observation can lead to additional compliance issues, particularly if an unsafe condition is identified and corrective action is required.

• If you manage or own NYC properties, now is the time to make sure your parapet observation requirements are taken care of before December 31st.
